22nd June 2003 Windsurfing: Bartley Green Brum Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 6-5-4-2! Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered: Sunday Sail Arrived mid afternoon delighted to find it blowing a solid 5-6 despite next to no wind at home in Droitwich 10miles south...apparently it had been gusting to 8 earlier. At last a chance to get on the Flow in ideal conditions. Thought 6.8 was going to be too much so rigged with loads of downhaul. Screamed across lake on first run - into harness+straps no problem. Attempted gybe and noticed it's much keener to do so than Techno. Fell in a lot, waterstarted a lot! Front foot heel seemed to be catching the water too when planing. Wind reduced after 30mins with just a few gusts to plane on. Should have changed to Techno+8m but time didn't allow so spent rest of time ploughing rather than planing. Went home v.pleased to get out on Flow at last (12 months after purchase!)..... I can sail it! |
